Our support teams catalyze learning by providing students with comfortable environments strategically developed to maximize learning. As an accredited international school in the heart of Shanghai, it may be surprising to know that we offer both extensive English as an Additional Language (EAL) as well as Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS) support. We employ a full-time Literacy Coach, and a host of single-subject teachers. Our library, gymnasium, STEAM Design Center, and pull-out learning and technology spaces support each student’s educational needs. For older students, our Lantern program provides the social and emotional support needed so all middle school students can prosper.
EAL
We offer English As a Second Lanaguage support for students once we have conducted a WIDA test to establish their fluency. Once we have a gauge for a student's english level, we place them in a class where they can be supported with other students currently learning at the same rate. This encourages students to experiment with English and not be afraid to make the mistakes beginners often make.
LSS
We offer Learning Support Strategies for children who are have learning needs to the best of our abilities. Our small dedicated team of professionals works closely with other institutions such as ELG and Olivia's Place to develop Independent Educational Plans catered to students who need them.
